Impact
Furniture Studio 2020
Impact is the base of a dresser that is designed to be the main design theme for a collection of different types of furniture. The aesthetic is focused on it’s angular design which comes from a 5 degree taper all around.
Inspiration
This design was inspired by the works of Bower Studios based in New York. While the inspiration did not concern aesthetics, it did, however, concern the idea of capturing a particular design element or theme and incorporating that within a collection of products.
Sketching and Ideation
This design was made from stacking two 3/4" in thick pine plywood to create the base and backing of the design. The feet, however, was cut from 2x4" in pine lumbar.

1/5 Scale Models
This project took place at the height of the COVID-19 outbreak which made access to facilities limited. In leu of making full scale models, scaled models were made instead. The models were crafted using museum boards at a 1/5 scale and the collection includes a 3 drawer and 4 drawer chest, as well as a TV stand.
